Event Lucky with Tassels!

Working on branding, and needing something to go with the adorable cards I got, I ordered booklets for my clients to put their event notes and questions for me. But I needed a cute way to wrap them, since they would have to be mailed. So I thought I would try out this tassel trend– and I loved the results!

I tried them with different colors of ribbon, and liked them each for different reasons. Which is your favorite?

The tassels were fun and easy to make– check out this tutorial here. These will definitely come up in my Christmas wrapping.

I hope my clients liked them! xoxo

Sophisticated Pumpkins

Bored with the usual scary faces and mess of carving pumpkins? How about these dressy options? {As seen on Babble}

You know how I love gold polka dots:

I’m thinking of trying this one myself:

Ok, maybe these aren’t sophisticated, but they are darn cute:

These studded ones are hot!

I love the intricate work on these bejeweled pumpkins:

Even pumpkins like bling:

What are you doing to decorate for the season?

Chocolate Thank You

A few weeks ago someone did me a favor. I’m fairly sure I’ll see him today, so I wanted to give him a little something to say thank you. I don’t know him very well, but he went out of his way to help me, and I appreciate it.

I planned to make cookies, but nothing went right on Sunday, so I found some yummy chocolate bars at Trader Joes (dark chocolate with caramel and black sea salt) and Whole Foods (Pear and Almond), wrapped them with ribbon and added a cute label from Paper Source. Hope that he likes chocolate!

What do you think? Do you think he will appreciate it?

Have a great weekend! xoxo

Stuck?

I know I talk about washi tape all the time, but its such a fun product. It’s good for so many things. I’ve used on home projects {here and here} and event projects {herehere and here}, but I wanted to do a round up on some of the more creative uses of the tape. Some less obvious uses for tape.

How about to decorate and personalize vases:

Or to decorate furniture:

Or table numbers on top:

To decorate presents:

Or cards and tags:

Or, with school starting, use it to cover your books:

And– did you hear? They now have large size washi for covering the walls. OMG. My walls will never be the same.

Any other ideas? I’d love to hear them!

Washi Tape Wall Treatment

Remember this wall treatment from our living room office?

Well, I wanted do something for office in our bedroom. I was thinking chevron, but then I saw this:

(Seriously, if you are not on pintrest, you should be! Let me know if you need an invite.)

I didn’t find black masking tape at Target, but realized I had some left over black and white washi tape. So I used  that. I think the texture is kinda fun, don’t you?

I used the washi tape to customize our bed side lamp shades (on the left), so it matches those nicely.

It’s not perfect, but it works. Now that I know it works, I might try some more!

What do you think of my wall treatments?

Banana Ice Cream– have you tried this yet??

Recently I read in a magazine that you can just blend frozen bananas to make ice cream. I was doubtful– wouldn’t it be like a smoothie? But it turns out it’s AMAZING!

Seriously— it gives the same mouth feel as ice cream and tastes so good. Especially as a non-dairy person, I am so glad to have ice cream back in my life! I add chocolate syrup on top and it’s incredible. I have it nearly every night.

All you do is chop up bananas and freeze them.  My husband sometimes adds a bit of soy milk, if needed to break them up a bit and blend. He says he might try water next time, even.

And that’s it— all you have to do to have an incredible bowl of ice cream.

Have you tried it yet? Have you tried mixing anything in them? That’s my next challenge!

It’s graduation season! I know three people that graduated at work (high school, college and masters levels) and my nephew graduated high school this past weekend (can I even tell you how old that makes me feel?). While cash and gift certificates are always welcome, these adorable grad gifts from Mrs. Lilien are nice enough to make me want to go back to school.
