I think I might need this for summer picnics and outdoor parties. Ok, maybe want it, but it’s beautiful, right? {source}

Cooking Themed Baby Shower
One of my dear friends in NYC {who was also one of my brides} is pregnant and I couldn’t be more excited for her. I think I am more disappointed than she is that I am not in town to plan her shower. She’s got tons of style, and she’s started her own bakery, with a focus on healthy treats out of her home, one of the ideas I’d consider for her would be a cooking themed baby shower. This is what I can’t decide– to cook sweet or savory! I think the “Bun in the Oven” could be sweet (haha) and fun, but this gorgeous, healthy vegetable cooking themed would be great for her summer baby– maybe something like “Freshly Picked.”
Take a look at these pictures and let me know what you think!

Sophisticated Indoor Picnic
Even though we are in September, it’s not quite fall {we have another week!} — so I am going to enjoy the bright colors while I can!
I put together this casual look for a dinner party, as a way to bring the outdoors in. This time of year often brings a few showers, so here’s a way to enjoy the flowers from the comfort of your own home.
The runner is wrapping paper that I picked up from Target, most likely from their $1 section {one of my favorite places to shop}. I used the striped gold paper and cups to play with the pattern and add some sophistication. The tea towel napkin and tea tin votives ensure that the look stays casual and doesn’t get too fussy, while the colored vases make the flowers pop. I painted a few of the petals gold to add some sparkle to the centerpieces.
This look is simple and fun— easy to put together with items you already have around your house. Enjoy your last days of summer!
Summer Drinks
To help cling on to the last moments of summer {as you know I am} I put together some of my favorite cocktails. Some from bars, some from my own kitchen, but all delicious. These drinks got me through the summer…and then some.
Margarita {tequila, fresh lime juice, simple syrup,triple sec, a dash of beer}
Glamourous @ the Mandarin Oriental {Bombay Sapphire Gin, Grand Marnier, Galliano, rose syrup, fresh lemon juice}
Elderflower Spritzer@ Busboys & Poets {St. Germain, vodka, muddled strawberries and lemons, champagne}
Paloma {grapefruit soda, silver tequila, fresh lime juice}
Ethereal Weekend Wedding
Summer Loving: Peaches
My favorite summer seasonal fruit has got to be peaches. I dream about big, juicy Georgia peaches {although other peaches will do} and try to get in as many as I can during their few weeks of perfect ripeness. Although I love them cold and straight from the fridge, these fun recipes ensure that I will get my peach fix in this year. {via Camille Styles}
Bacon, Peach and Arugula Sandwich {trying this one first!}
Peach, Basil, and Ricotta Flatbread
Grilled Peach Salad with Peach Cumin Salad
Gluten Free White Peach Tartelettes with Rosemary Sugar
I hope you enjoy these as much as I do! xoxo
London, Baby!
Are enjoying the Olympics as much as I am? C and I have been talking about going to London for a few years and these games are just growing the desire. So I was immediately attracted to this wedding invitation suite from Hello!Lucky. Modern and fun, it’s a great representation of this fabulous city.
Gorgeous Florida Wedding
It’s no secret I’m a Florida girl, and I treat weddings from my home state accordingly; always interested, but judge harshly. But this wedding {and about an hour from the location of my own wedding} is perfect. From the floating dress and chevron invitation to the dining tables– every detail is beautiful and modern. {via 100 Layer Cake}
Farmers Market Flowers: Milk Bottle
The other weekend when we were in NYC we stayed near the Flower Market. Naturally, I took advantage of the opportunity of being so close to Jamali Garden Center and stocked up a bit. I got a few fun things to share with you, that I put together with $6 of flowers from the farmers market.
First up is the milk bottle vase. These white flowers give a romantic, vintage look. {even with my modern vases in the background!}
I love how these flowers reflect the light!
Then I tried colored zinnias, and loved the modern shift.
Gorgeous, right?
What do you think of this vase 2 ways?
Travel Themed Wedding
My husband pointed out today that I’ve been trending towards Bohemian lately. My inner boho chic goddess is coming out, inspired by Turkey. This wedding had a lot going for it already with its vintage global look, but then this cute couple added a travel theme, and I was done. I fell in love immediately. {see more at the Rock n’ Roll Bride}
