Black, White & Glittery

I’m starting to get back into the swing of things {and caught up on my reader!}. I was overwhelmed by the use of these bold, striking tablecloths paired with a bit of sparkle at weddings recently. What a fun combination!

Dramatic Impact

If  anything can equal my love of bright, saturated colors it’s stark modern black and white. Both palettes leave a statement, and the bolder the better, in my book. The only question left is: which one to chose?

Black & White Kitty Party

I’ve been inspired by sweet animal parties {like this kit, my friend sent me and these doggy crowns} and if you follow my Instagram you know my own cat is a source of enjoyment and annoyance. So when I felt the urge to plan a party, a kitty party was one of my first thoughts. I put together a modern, sophisticated cat themed dessert party, that was still fun enough to live up to my lively pet.

This simple party made a big impact with the strict use of black white with tiny pops of red, used sparingly. The tiger-striped liners with the chocolate cupcakes and vanilla icing {and a special one in a kitty friendly recipe}, really pop with silhouette  cut out cat related words and images. I took a stab at customizing a napkin, and the swedish fish finished off the table setting. Milk, a kitty favorite, given in tiny glasses and matched straws. The vases were my favorite part, each one different, but still tied together in the black and white theme. One in black and white twine, one with grosgrain ribbon and a fish, and the others with washi tape. It really added to the vases I already in my collection.

I think it turned out really well– and Kimchi seemed to like it. It was a success!

Happy Friday!

I’ve been traveling all over this week, so I’m excited to be near the end of my adventures with some beach time with my family.

But I’ve really enjoyed all that I have seen, including these cool wall and ceiling treatments in Minneapolis. I can’t wait to try them out for a party! {Follow me on instagram to see more!}

And, in case you missed it, a round up of posts from this week–

Fancy up some colorful pots with gold paint.

London’s calling with beautiful invites.

A black and white nursery? Gives me ideas for a baby shower!

Add a little shine to your own stationary with more gold paint.

Have a great weekend!! xoxo

Gorgeous Florida Wedding

It’s no secret I’m a Florida girl, and I treat weddings from my home state accordingly; always interested, but judge harshly. But this wedding {and about an hour from the location of my own wedding} is perfect. From the floating dress and chevron invitation to the dining tables– every detail is beautiful and modern.  {via 100 Layer Cake}
