On the Burner…

I’ve got some fun, exciting things that I am working on {one you will see as early as this weekend!}, and, as always, a lot of things on my mind. Thought I’d share a few…

I love this adorable pouf, while I search and search for outdoor cushions.

Amazing egg decorations!

Surprise Endings

When I was in Chile a few weeks ago, we ended up at a fairly fancy restaurant for dinner one night called Ox, a steak house in Vitacura {an upscale neighborhood in Santiago}. After a nice meal, with great dips for our bread and a perfectly cooked piece of meat, they brought out a sample of sorbets in passion fruit and lemon for us to share. But that wasn’t the best part. We decided we didn’t want dessert, and were waiting for the bill. Instead, they brought us a plate of pink cotton candy!

It was so whimsical and fun, and completely unexpected for this white table cloth establishment. Our table was  excited and this thoughtful gesture really sealed this experience as one of our favorite meals of the trip.

It got me thinking about surprise endings. At Roxy + Joe’s wedding, they ended the evening with chocolate chips and milk. This wedding gave guests breakfast on their way out for the next morning. It’s such a thoughtful addition, and best when unexpected. I’m thinking of incorporating it into my next event!

Breakfast Brunch

Even though we were all too busy to read the book, my book club got together this weekend. We met at a restaurant (which was perfect, actually) but our gathering  inspired this casual breakfast menu.

Avocado and Egg Pizza

Brown Sugar Sour Cream Blueberry Coffee Cake

Strawberry Basil Sangria

Mother’s Day Brunch

I, sadly, won’t be with my mother this Sunday, but for those of that are luckier than I, Oh Happy Day came up with an adorable printable to spruce up the breakfast tray. It’s cute and simple– and even your kids could do it (hint, hint)!

Another Take on Brunch

Brunch the morning following a wedding is growing in popularity. It’s a great way for the bride and groom to spend those last precious moments with their guests– and the guests to spend time with each other. Not to mention, a good greasy meal is usually the first thing on my mind after a night of drinking.

But if all of that is too much handle– or you just want to cuddle up with your new hubby the morning after, this couple and their planner came up with a cute way to still host your guests without having to face them. Breakfast in bed!

Near the end of the wedding festivities, a “Breakfast-To-Go” Bar was set up. Organic bloody mary mix with mini vodka bottles were offered, and Illy Cappuccino in the can as well. Guests could choose an assortment of bagels, donuts, pain au chocolat, croissants and brioche, with an assortment of jams, butter and cream cheese.  Their selections were  then packed in an insulated bag by waitstaff– all ready for  the next morning.

What a fun favor! And you’ve got to admit– makes you re-think brunch the day after, doesn’t it?
