Dont Hide Those Cords!

These days, with technology used for most everything, sometimes I feel like cords are taking over my apartment. Cell phone, laptop, ipad, tv, dvd player… every plug is full and it seems we always need more.

So I love this idea from Apartment Therapy to use what you got. The cords can create cool designs to enhance a space rather than detract. I’ve got to try this!

Gingerbread Traditions

Last year, while coming up up with traditions for Christmas for my husband and me, we decided to make and decorate gingerbread houses. None of our results were blog worthy, but it was a ton of fun. We decorated away, while watching Babe.

I don’t know if we will be able to enjoy the tradition this year, but I am gathering inspiration anyway!

This one is gorgeous.

These green versions are so modern and fun.

I love these row houses– you can barely tell that they are gingerbread!

Do have any Christmas traditions? xoxo

Learning to be a 1950′s Housewife Bachelorette Party

As I mentioned, I love bachelorette parties that are about good clean fun– celebrating your last days of single hood by doing something girly. Well, one of my readers (and friend) captured that spirit. Her best friend just got married, so she planned a great weekend that didn’t include Vegas before the big day. She borrowed (but could have rented) a large house in Palm Springs that would fit all of the friends– and the festivities. And lots of festivities there were!

First, some fun decorations greeted them…

They started by decorating their own glasses (a way to kick off the housewife creativity)…

And, of course, some cheese to go with that wine.

Then, that night, a chef came to teach them how to make a meal (as every good housewife should be able to make at least one snazzy meal).

They started with adorable aprons…

And kitchen gifts for the bride.

Then they dove into the menu…

Yum! And fun!

The next morning, a yoga instructor came to the house for a session (because every good housewife knows to stay in shape…and be flexible!)

And custom shirts were made for the group, so they could always remember the fun.

After some fun at the pool (the bride even has a bride bikini– how cute is that?)

The girls headed out for some night fun in a limo…and if they engaged in any debauchery, it’s their own business!

Looks like a great time! All best to the bride– and the MOH planner!

Office Covered in Dots!

Remember my inspiration for my office? Well, I did some work on it. Let me know what you think!

I love it! It really delineates the space between the “office” and the “living room.”  It looks like we have big pennies on the wall! I like it so much I am looking for a wall treatment for the office in our bedroom. I’m thinking chevron….

Ready for the 4th?

All you need for a fun filled holiday!

Ready for Spring!

After a couple of days in Florida, I am ready for Spring (although it may snow in New York today! What?!). These adorable lollipop cakes make me long all the more for the colorful days of warmer weather!
