As a follow up to yesterday’s post on baby showers…I saw this very cute party idea from Artsy Fartsy Shopaholic via createmyevent.com and decided it needed it’s own day. I am not big into gender themes (pink for a girl, blue for a boy), and this party allows for that, as well as building lots of excitement for everyone!
Erika, due in August with her first baby– and quite the party planner, if I do say so myself– decide to have a Gender Reveal Party. How fun is that? On the day of her ultrasound, she asked the technician to write down the sex of the baby on note card and put it in an envelope (and,of course, not tell them). She and her husband dropped the envelope off with a friend, who could be trusted with the information.
For the party that evening, guests got to guess right along with couple for the sex of the baby. Only the friend with the envelope knew the sex, and she kept mum. The friend baked cupcakes, secretly dying them pink or blue. The parents and the guests would find out the sex at the same time– as they bit into the sweet treat!
Looks like the guests guessed right– Erika is having a girl!
What a cute way to welcome a baby! Congrats Erika!
