Some color combos I’m loving this month. These bright colors will brighten up any February.

Seafoam and Gold
I love this color combination of a soft green and shiny gold. It’s a bit unexpected and perfect for September, bridging summer and fall.

Summer Bedding
We’ve had the same duvet cover for years– longer, in fact, than we have had the bed. It was working ok for us, but with these 100+ degree days, I wanted something lighter.
Our bed, before:
In Turkey, I got a wonderfully huge blanket that would fit our king sized bed. So I decided to change things up a little.
I’m really liking the lighter look for summer. What do you think? xoxo

Garland Isn’t Just for Christmas
I’m working on some decor ideas for my Baltimore bride- the ethereal wedding. I’m loving garland– it’s so natural and flowing. Perfect for an organic wedding.
This green organic wreath is beautiful– easily transferable to a garland.
This one is a little big, but I like seeing it wrapped around the banister.
This sweet garland on a cake is perfect.
This arch way is so wild and beautiful.
This wild flower garland is gorgeous. And there is a DIY.
What do you guys think? Are you as obsessed as I am? Any other ideas? xoxo
Gingerbread Traditions
Last year, while coming up up with traditions for Christmas for my husband and me, we decided to make and decorate gingerbread houses. None of our results were blog worthy, but it was a ton of fun. We decorated away, while watching Babe.
I don’t know if we will be able to enjoy the tradition this year, but I am gathering inspiration anyway!
This one is gorgeous.
These green versions are so modern and fun.
I love these row houses– you can barely tell that they are gingerbread!
Do have any Christmas traditions? xoxo
Modern Holidays
I love these modern monochromatic looks. Could be fun nontraditional Christmas/Hanukkah decor, don’t you think?

Christmas Is Coming — Into My Apartment
I hope your Thanksgiving was marvelous!! So what are you doing today? Shopping or decorating?
Me? I’m decorating! I’ll take some pictures when it’s done, but I wanted to share my inspirations. Do you mind?
I’m still loving blue and snowflakes. Maybe it’s the kid in me? {All images from Target}
Then, to give it a modern edge, I’m pairing it with black & white. {this banner is downloadable, by the way!}
And– partially because I can’t help myself, and partially to help it blend in with my every day decor, there will be some green thrown in. And stars.

I’ll save the wrapping paper for another post!
What about you? What is your holiday theme this year? xoxo
Indulge Me
I think I am getting a bit sentimental with all of the weddings– between my bride getting married a few weeks ago (more to come, I promise!), this wedding that reminds me of my own, and the two weddings I have on my mind, I’ve been thinking about my own wedding, 2.5 years ago. I shared bits and pieces when I first started this blog, but not in it’s entirety. In fact, I haven’t even looked at them recently, so I’m a bit curious to how well the style aged–if it did. Will you join me in a little reminiscing?
Somehow we didn’t get any shots of our invitations. My husband is a computer guy, and eco-conscious, so we did an email save-the-date and self printed our invites with soy and vegetable based inks. The RSVP card was a pull off post-card or they could go online. Not shown here are the yellow mum liners.
Now that I have started my blog, and discovered I love paper, would I have made the same choice? Hmm, I don’t know. It did make my husband happy though, so maybe. It is funny to see our old names now.
We were married March 15th, 2009 (the ides of March!) at the Davis Island Garden Club. I wanted to be near the water, but not a beach wedding (I didn’t want to be barefoot), so the Garden Club was the perfect location, on an island in downtown Tampa. It was also in a central location between my family, part of my husband’s family and many of our friends. Not to mention the grounds are beautiful and required little decoration.
We held our ceremony in the round, and Jen was our awesome day of coordinator (I got to return the favor for her wedding!). One of the best parts of the day was my step-dad officiated the ceremony. He’s an awesome orator, and it made it that much more special.
Here’s our first look –I now love that it is so candid. That table in the corner? That was our refreshment table. It was 80 degrees in FL (perfect for me, not for everyone), so we offered guests drinks and fans prior to the ceremony. The programs were also on this table. While I really liked our photographer, there are a few details that I wish we had documented. This table {and programs and invitations} are some of them. Examples of things that important to the bride (as I spent hours on these details) that I should have communicated to the photographer. oops. Something I do for my brides now.
{Side note: While watching reruns of Mad About You Jamie was also disappointed not to have every picture. Maybe every bride feels this way?}
Isn’t our bridal party fun? Just married:
Come back tomorrow for dinner, dancing and our surprise fireworks! xoxo
