This month is so fun– and I have great things to share with you from a bachelorette party to a bridal shower, and a little girls birthday party to a dinner party. Not to mention a blog redesign (!). I’ll get those things up, but in the meantime, enjoy some things that are making me happy right now…
My dad turned 65 last week, so my mom made a cake for him and the family, using cute candles and raspberries as the candle holders.
I love all of the color possibilities of these lights from Oh Happy Day.
How cool to add some color to the edge of your door.
These subway map menus from Forking Tasty are perfect for a NYC gathering.
It is so cool to see how much Shakespeare has effected our language.
And don’t forget to enter my flower give away!
You guys know how much I like to use what I have around the house to make crafts. Well, these fun uses of cupcake liners found at Hip Hip Hooray let me do just that. Who doesn’t have extra liners hanging out in their cabinets?
Cute, clever and affordable! Do you have any other crafts that cupcake liners can be used?
I love sparkling lights at a party…who doesn’t? I assume it is what makes people keep Christmas Lights up all year. (Just to be clear, I am not one of those people).
These lights would be perfect at an end of summer party.
And look at this cool tent made of lights! How beautiful!
Colorful backdrops make for great pictures– and these people seem to know it. Here are some creative ideas to plus up the background of your next party-and photos.
I love this use of colorful strips of fabric . It looks fantastic!
The setting of this wedding is already amazing, but the lights hung like moss take it to another level.
The sheer curtains used at this bridal shower look great in the windows…
And behind the food table.
These streamers make a big impact– at low cost!
What do you think? Will you try one of these colorful backgrounds?
Did you all have a good weekend? Mine was busy, with a pot luck picnic and hosting a dinner party. I’ll have details to share later in the week.
But today I want to talk about this beautiful new trend with tents that I am seeing. For awhile tents were all the rage. Everyone having events used a tent. They were pretty and rain back up all in one! More recently, outdoor dining has been popular– a la a backyard event. People who will risk the weather and the reward is worth it. Now I am starting to see a melding of these trends– and the results are breathtaking! Take a look…
I didn’t think that weddings set in a vineyard could get any more beautiful, until I saw this draped tent. It provided the perfect bit of shade, without blocking the views.
And then I saw this event– I actually gasped out loud. The draped tent. The chandelier. The lights. Oh my.
If this is the new direction of tents, I am definitely on board.
