Baby Banner

Ok– Last post on the baby shower box for Emi. My friend picked a beautiful name for her daughter {Emi is Japanese for blessed}, so I was able to personalize the box, something just for her.

I cut out the pennants and letters on my Silhouette and assembled it. For the tassels,  the gold was a little too much, so I flipped the paper over, using the white side, so the gold just peaks through. I love that it adds just a bit of shine.

I hope they will get some use out of it, to welcome her home or to decorate her room. I loved making it for them!

Baby Shower in a Box

One of the hardest things about living overseas is being {and sometimes feeling} far away from your friends and family during important times in their lives. Technology has made it a lot easier to stay in touch and even be a part of big days, but sometimes things you can touch and feel make your relationship more tangible.

One of my dearest friends in New York is nearly due with a little girl named Emi. The mother-t0-be is one of the strongest people I know, and yet physically one of the smallest! This kick-ass lady loves pink like nobodies business so I know her baby will be dressed as the princess- and athlete– that she will become. I can’t wait for this litte girl to be born and I couldn’t help but put together a box of love for Emi and her mommy.

My friend also spent some time in Hong Kong, so I added some items that are specific to the region, like this baby book and tiny chinese slippers {ok, and maybe to remind Emi of her Aunt Sara} . I made a banner– for her room or to welcome her home, personalized special. I also made the mobile, and put together a little pampering kit for my friend, including some fun nail polish and masks. A little learning toy is a necessity and I found the color card at Prints, fitting the color scheme nicely.

I hope Emi and her mommy love it! xoxo

Cooking Themed Baby Shower

One of my dear friends in NYC {who was also one of my brides} is pregnant and I couldn’t be more excited for her. I think I am more disappointed than she is that I am not in town to plan her shower.  She’s got tons of style, and she’s started her own bakery, with a focus on healthy treats out of her home, one of the ideas I’d consider for her would be a cooking themed baby shower. This is what I can’t decide– to cook sweet or savory! I think the “Bun in the Oven” could be sweet (haha) and fun, but this gorgeous, healthy vegetable cooking themed would be great for her summer baby– maybe something like “Freshly Picked.”

Take a look at these pictures and let me know what you think!

Guests received mix and match aprons!!

Happy Friday!

I’ve been traveling all over this week, so I’m excited to be near the end of my adventures with some beach time with my family.

But I’ve really enjoyed all that I have seen, including these cool wall and ceiling treatments in Minneapolis. I can’t wait to try them out for a party! {Follow me on instagram to see more!}

And, in case you missed it, a round up of posts from this week–

Fancy up some colorful pots with gold paint.

London’s calling with beautiful invites.

A black and white nursery? Gives me ideas for a baby shower!

Add a little shine to your own stationary with more gold paint.

Have a great weekend!! xoxo

Shower Wear

I’m loving this sweet outfit from Flights of Fancy, perfect for a bridal shower or baby shower. Even me, a boycotter (is that a word?) of both pink and heels, thinks this looks is both feminine and fun, without being over the top girly. And nothing is over $100. What do you think?

No. 1: Navy Jersey Blazer from Boden ($59.00)
No. 2: Chateau Pink Pleated Skirt from Ruche ($43.99)
No. 3: Patent Nude Pumps from Jessica Simpson ($79.00)
No. 4: Striped Boatneck Tee from J. Crew ($39.50)

Any exciting plans this weekend? Have a great one! xoxo

Rustic Elegance– in a Baby Shower

I’m generally a modern girl, but this gorgeous baby shower (for twins!) made my heart skip a beat {via Amy Atlas}. The newspaper theme creates the rustic (I love the invites and the crossword puzzle, as well as the baby letters), and the all white flowers and black and white details bumps up the sophistication.

Someone have a baby (or babies!) so I can re-create this beauty! xoxo
